What’s the opposite of well-behaved? Skandal Us! Yes folks, we know that is the type of behavior people love to see come Carnival Monday and Tuesday... but, right now we not talking about bad behavior. We inside Pier 1 checking out the scene at the Skandal Us band launch for 2K6.

The main deck was full as people came out in numbers. What we noticed from this crowd in particular though, was the strong presence of more mature patrons. This was not a teeny-bopper event! The party was swinging and people were enjoying themselves when the DJ, on queue, cut the music. Lights focused on stage, smoke machines created some mist and then some Latin music began to play. This immediately transformed the ambiance of Pier 1 into an atmosphere of a village somewhere in Cuba. With the stage now host to some Latin dancers putting down some wicked moves to the pulsating rhythm, it was a 'thief head'. But this soon ended when the DJ dropped a Soca selection and the crowd was immediately transported back to Trinidad.

It was now time for Skandal Us presentation for Carnival 2006... Havana! Costume time folks. Sexy models took to the stage to strut their stuff, displaying the marvelous costumes that made up the various sections of the band. The presentation, which lasted for about twenty minutes, was truly crowd-pleasing. After that it was back to the party. Imij and Co. was in the house and put down a performance that had the crowd real liking themselves.

We noticed that the party ended a little earlier than we are accustomed too. By quarter past three the fete was over. Well, we are not sure if people went home afterwards or were like us, and looking for the next lime to fall into. Either way, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves!
