Well well well... Abstract Magazine's Launch party! Not to sound like a cliché, but it started off a bit gloomy and ended up being ah blast!! Picture paying $450 for VIP and $350 for general admission tickets at one of the hottest nightclubs in the Caribbean. It must leave some folks wandering, "What's all this money for??!!"

To begin with, it was an Unlimited All-Inclusive Experience and secondly, there was a big all star line up carded to perform. Yup!! Kes The Band and Jamaican dancehall artist Mr. Vegas, with a cameo performance by the Tipan of Soca himself, Machel Montano. Oh let's not forget about the fashion show too!

As hyped as we taught it was going to be, it didn't start off that way. Around 9:30 PM there was probably a total of a mere 50 people in the club, Yea 50!! Nevertheless, the show must go on. It started of with Soca boy group Surge who never fails to please the crowd. Then an upcoming Soca Synergy Star from season 2 did a performance, and he turned out to be a total serendipity. The young man definitely had some talent. Then came Kes The Band... OMG!! What ah super, hype performance!! Kes took us back in time with some Black Stalin straight into 2007 carnival renditions like "Our Prayer". After that performance, the crowd was energized and the vibes unquestionably was pumping now. Then came the Abstract Magazine models. Strutting their stuff on the catwalk, they surely captivated the audience's attention. Don't talk about the stunning Silver Angel. A definite show stopper that looked like she fell straight from heaven. Sexy for days... geez n ages!!

Afterwards, Mr. Vegas came out singing some of his ole school tunes like "Head High" and "Taxi Fare." His performance became great when one of our favorite soca stars Machel came out to sing "Dance With You Remix" with him. Then Machel gave the crowd a little taste of his new single which excited them even more. Mr. Vegas even asked a girl from the crowd to dance with him. Wow, she was undoubtedly a true dancehall queen. She left Vegas in amazement, so much so that he had to ask her where she was from. Answer....... "Trinidad!!" De man was still in disbelief and awe.

The show came to an end around 2 AM. Honestly the party had potential to be a really great fete but Abstract Magazine needed to be a little more organized with the promotions. Nevertheless, like true Trini fashion, everyone there ended up enjoying themselves! TJJ definitely wants to say nuff respect to Kes The Band and management as we continue to bring you up close and personal coverage of the band for 2k7 and beyond. One Love.
