With a barrage of Caribana parties on the horizon, Toronto is the place to be to get your soca fix and what better way than to go see de Doctor! Yes we talking bout the 11th Annual Whiteout fete presented by Dr. Jay and The KOs family which was held at the spacious Wild Water Kingdom water park. Of course no fete is complete without a little car park lime so with the help of Fred Flintstone cups (lol) TJJ buss open the Hennessey & Appleton and surveyed the scene as the convoy of cars kept on coming and with FREE parking the vibe had only just begun.

We have to admit that it was extremely impressive to see that with the exception of 2 or 3 people (we doh know how they reach inside!) everyone was dressed in white. Women were dressed stylish in anything from halters to short shorts to simple summer white dresses, where as the guys did not disappoint in their casual soccer jerseys and shorts to the swanky all dressed in linen.

In no time headline band Roy Cape All Stars took to the stage and simply had the place on fire! Live & direct from T&T, this was their first Canadian performance for 2k6, and the legendary band with lead singers Blaxx and Rita Jones (who looked stunning in her all white outfit) did not disappoint. Singing all the big tunes from past Carnivals to present, they had the crowd in their control with rags and flags moving left to right. "Ohhhhh I can feel it, Carnival day is coming again ... Do you get this feeeeeelinng, show me how you feeling when it's Carnival time..." No matter how many times we hear it, we jus love dat tune (run de track)! Although some would say that they were on stage a little too long, most would agree that Roy Cape gave fetegoers their monies worth and the vibe of the party only got better. Next up was another legend, Explainer, and that meant it was time to find ah bumsie and take a small wine cause with big, big tunes like "All Inclusive" and "Park It" how could you not!! But wait, he didn't perform "Lorraine," this was a first for TJJ.

In addition to all that sweet music, there was plenty food on sale and the bar was ran smoothly even with the whole drink chit system. Big props to Dirty Dez and Eman who held it down on the M.I.C and KOS resident DJ's MarXman and Dr. Jay de Soca Prince who mashed it up on the ONEs and TWOs, pumping out the soca and reggae all night long. Adisa welcome back!!!

Many fetegoers wanted us to mention that although they were disappointed that the fete was an early wrap up fete ... 2:15am they appreciated the change up from the downtown club scene to the open-air venue. We mean IZ summer... let's enjoy the weather as much as we can! Now although advertised till 2:15am, the fete actually went till 2:35am ... still not as long as people as would have liked, BUT guess what? That's because it was "a damn good party" and cuz everyone had "a damn good time!!!"

We looking forward to the next KOS jammie... J'ouvert Caribana Friday! Ayee yiii yiiiii.
