Chaconia Inn was a good enough place to host this event; where upon entering the venue there's an outside sitting area, a well equipped bar and an intimate auditorium for the performances. It was well attended with a crowd filled with rock stars including the TJJ Crew .... hehe.

Lanyap was the first to get us going. A good start; with very little musical accompaniment except for a single acoustic guitar, the duo’s lead singer took us back to the days of ‘Hootie and the Blowfish’ with his clear cut vocals and consistent tone reminiscent of Darius Rucker. The passionate delivery and original lyrics made it clear that these guys were serious about their craft and made the most of opportunities to showcase their talent. We knew it would only get better from here on.

Cabezon were up next, led by a well groomed lead singer whose vocal’s were good but outdone by his comedic antics and desire to connect with the crowd; he was undeniably humorous. This was an energetic band, it was fun listening in and from the way the crowd looked while Cabezon performed we're pretty sure that they had loads of supporters in the crowd.

Now during the break the event really became jam-packed which undoubtedly gave the next band Nylon Pool a boost. It was clear that this band had their followers as the 100 plus crowd smiled in glee at their reggae inspired sound. All eyes were on them. The fact that all of the members with the exception of 1 were sporting Rastafarian hairstyles was a welcomed sight and added to their allure, originality and essence. Their sound broke away from the previous alternative rock performances. It felt ‘real’ and zealous and their crowd-pleasing antics went beyond the expected timeframe to the disappointment of the event manager who had no choice but to give in to the crowds demand for two more songs.

AAAHHHHH and then, conveniently a little after 12:00 AM 12 The Band came out welcomed! We had to wait no more when this crew grabbed ALL attention from the get go. THIS IS WHY WE HERE! They performed about 8 of their pieces. Some might remember 12 in Woodford Café right?? Well, this was way better! The one member that would not be forgotten would be the saxophonist! Oh! That's all we're saying “Oh!”. Sheldon Holder the lead vocalist was truly hyped for the last few tunes on closing the show; thanking everyone involved with bringing the event to pass. This was cool. He jumped, he physically greeted members of the crowd, he danced and sang his lungs out! The energy given out from each member of this band was dynamic and separately received by the crowd; yet this one band harmoniously blended as one voice and took us away. We were pleased but sad to see them go.

Indeed, this night was well received on our end TJJ always enjoy a lil head-banging lime now and then. 12, it was nice!
