A'right so we on the move again and this rounds we decided to switch things up and try a different beat. We always hear about this Amnesia dance an ting - so you know... since we have hot foot and it involved a boat cruise ... surreee why not! Before we break it down, here's a synopsis of what Amnesia is all about.

Amnesia was created in late August 1999, based on a conversation between Ian Andre Espinet (I.A.E), Mark G. (Starting from Scratch) and Jason Chambers (Attitude Sound Crew). The inaugural Amnesia event took place in September 1999 in response to the fact that the club scene in Toronto failed to play music outside of the parameters of that which was current. As such, certain musical genres were found neglected almost as though D.J.s and patrons had AMNESIA. Armed with musical knowledge, Amnesia began with a mandate to play Classic House and Old School, and today has grown to encompass New Jack Swing, Golden Era Hip Hop, Classic Slow Jams, and Retro including 70s and 80s television themes packaged as “Scratch's Honky Hits”.

So yes people, you know what that meant? Ammm NO Soca.... NO Reggae! Someone please pass us a drink! lol. True to boat cruise fashion, d'lime started the night off in the parking lot.... coolers were out, jams were blaring and the crowd was getting into the mood. Boarding began at 10pm sharp and our AMNESIA adventure began. We have to admit... boy we hear some tunes that just made you go - whoooaaaa remember dis one??!! With Scratch on the one's and two's anything was possible and we were all treated to old school, classic house, retro, new jack swing (80s/early 90s R&B), classic slow jams and even television show themes. Yes, I think they buss out the Jefferson yes.... lol... real jokes.

The food on board was provide by Nando's chicken and trust us... TJJ loves us some Nando's chicken!! So you know that went down sweet, sweet!! Next ting, boat docking and time to go. Amnesia was an experience - a good one at that! Much love to Ian Andre Espinet & the Crew. Catch you next rounds!
