As the saying goes, there is always a calm before the storm, and this was just the case as we arrived at Zen on the Eve of Republic Day here in T&T. Pulling up at minutes to 1 AM, there was hardly anyone outside. The good folks at the front door even asked us how come we were so late? Little did they know that de Juice was flowin' all over de place tonight, yes! From Trini Revellers 2k8 Band Launch in Pier 1 to Flight Cruise on de Ocean Pearl, all de way over to Sugar at Nemo’s, while making an appearance in de Zen as well. Talk bout movements ... IZ RHEL PACE!!

Anyways as we were saying, outside de club was remarkably quiet.... but don't let your eyes fool you, on de inside was de storm! If you see people! The Zen was alive and kicking. This part Masala 101 FM and Synergy TV sponsored event was where a lot of the hot girls were the night before de holiday. While talking with some folks we got the scoop about all de drama that was involved in just trying to get in. There were lines long for so, going around both street corners in front on Zen and ting. Folks without advance tickets being braced and talk about trying to find a park... good gosh! Even TJJ feel a piece of this dilemma.

We were quite late for this event which began at around 8 PM, so let's get the show on de road. Pulling square stage side, Dil-E-Nadan was already on stage and the crowd was in ah frenzy. Let's say it again ... the place was hype! Peter C. gave a special performance which was real entertaining, as well as, Derek Seales with his remix of the popular hit “Beautiful Girls”.

Karma who performed next, never fail to show why they are fast becoming one of the more popular Chutney bands in T&T. Everyone was squeezed in tight on the dance floor in much anticipation of the new rum anthem “Rum Is Meh Lover”, which had most of the audience raising their drinks in the air and chanting along. Some quiet memorable moments, especially when we saw Ravi B drinking some firewater which he pulled out of a little bottle in his belt just before bussing the tune. Rakesh Yankaran aka The Raja also appeared while Karma was on stage, doing a couple of his hits to the crowd's delight.

Although we missed some of the action, like performances from Spread Pal Crew with Omadath Maharaj, also Sally Sagram and Drupatee Ramgoonai to boot, the portion of the show that we did see was quite enjoyable. Sorry that we could not showcase a lot more of the hotties that were present, but the crowd was so tight that it sometimes made our job impossible. We however prefer such a scenario over a buss fete any day!! ;-)

After hanging around for a bit and making sure that there were no more performances, we then packed up shop and headed back over to Nemo's to see how the sunrise session was shaping up. Till de next Chutney folks ... D’ local Juice signing out!
