Ice Gold and Green Is Back!

For years Roots Rock Reggae has been one of Busspepper best events, so for it's fifth anniversary this year.... they say they coming twice as hard. TJJ was eager to get a piece of this party and hear some long awaited Reggae after the TJJ Notting Hill 2008 Fete-lympics®. So we reach in the party around 10pm (yeah we real early) ... this time Busspepper is back at Prohibition - sexy venue round the corner from TJJ's favourite.. Abacus.... Prohibition, like Abacus, is a large venue smack bang in the heart of the city and features two floors with a bar on each so you could look down at the action if you want to chill out upstairs.. or MACO as some people favoured!!! Upstairs was decorated with old time art and sexy chandeliers.. thing to make you wanna swing off of.. yeah baby!!.. and don't forget TJJ's favourite sexy spiral staircase that leads you straight to the action.

As usual Busspepper offers a guest list only approach .. so you need to visit their website to get your name down in advance to ensure entry to their exclusive events (www.busspepper.com). Hasan was there serving his delicious trini food with a full feast of pelau, macaroni pie, bake and shark , bake chicken, jerk chicken and curry goat!!! Service for food was on point.... Busspepper lives up to their promise.. ever living.. ever tasteful !! Which is more than I can say for the bar, where it took me half hour just to get a glass.. and I see plenty peeps heading upstairs to the other bar but away form the party.

We feel 10pm was a little early but it has been awhile we were in a party and well just a few eager partygoers spread across the floor and the DJs on the decks. The venue quickly started to fill and by midnight we had the usual full Busspepper vybe. We saw people just standing up chilling, getting to talk to old friends, meet up since the carnival and well it had the regulars .... Who say wine on a bar stool??? Who say wine on a stairs??? ... irie!!!

The music for the night was in abundance from the genres - dancehall and reggae - and it was it uncontrollable elements from the reggae world that was pumpping through the speakers .... the likes of Beres Hammond, Gregory Issacs and Sanchez. We do believe some Bob Marley was in the mix but we do not really remember to be honest. Too much vybez to remember all that happen! A complete hour wasn't given, even though it was promised, but hey, who could complain ... the DJs were on point! Large up yuhselves!!

People were having a time.. drinking and carrying on. It's a shame the Prohibition doormen lock off at 1.30am as there was still an hour and a half to go and some of TJJ's favourite peeps get left out in the cold. Some people try and duck under the rope.. so keen to get a piece of what Busspepper offering!! Not much entertainment to be laughing off of, besides the few people who trip on the stairs (stop it Amiel ... stop laughing at people's misfortunes). Is Not Their Fault They Cyah Walk!!! Lift Yuh Foot!!!!!! smile

Still plenty food left at the end, and whether drunk or sober, Defour Caterers made sure no one went home hungry ... big up Hassan!!! At roughly 3:00am, TJJ retired for the night. It was real dancehall ... real reggae ... Roots Rock Reggae lived up to its standards!!

Until the next time, Busspepper we looking forward to something fresh. See ya at their next event carded for October 25th 2008 (advertised on the night) ... WE WILL BE THERE!! Bang Bang!!!
