So if you didn't know, since December, Strictly Soca has been taking place in the good ole Sosta Lounge in Hollywood - a good location for those of us who trekking to fete from up north but still not too far for those coming from down south. But who we fooling? West Indians really doh care how far they have to drive for a good fete!! And a good fete it was - especially for those of us sufferers who didn't make it to TnT Carnival 2008. Soca Strictly was just what de doctor ordered!!

With resident DJs House Arrest, Dorenzo Eternal Vibes and Sound Rev, it was Soca, Soca and more Soca. And you could tell those in the crowd who made it to Carnival, because they were in the middle of the dance floor blazing up de place ... blaze it... blaze it up ... while the rest of us just danced on the sidelines trying to copy some of the latest dances from Carnival this year, while trying to pretend like we know the words to all the new Soca so we could sing along. smile

But of course, the DJs delivered some golden oldies so everybody could take a little taste on the center of the dance floor. So although no party could touch being in Trini for de real deal, Strictly Soca "Carnival Edition" was nice everytime, and if you had close your eyes for a sec, you coulda easily believe that you were in some fete in Trini for Ck8!
