Sometimes when you grow up you gotta move out and get your own place, such is the case with this event. Strictly Soca simply outgrew the confines of Sosta Lounge the place would be ram and not everyone would get in. So for this month they announced that they would be at a new venue, Grand Palms out west in Pembroke Pines. We have been there before for Connection Royale, Memorial Day weekend, so we knew space would not be a problem. The folks at Party People left no stone unturned in getting the word out that they were going to be at a new venue, and since we is people too, you know we had to be up in the dance as well.

Funny enough, Pines Blvd and Hollywood Blvd are one and the same changing after you cross a certain point so they really just moved out West, so it took us almost the same amount of time to get to the new venue, and with gas prices they way they are that was a good thing. Another good thing is that parking is never a problem at his venue, with valet parking right in the hotel lot, and a big lot across the street. Even though it was just as close, we were our usual late selves - getting there after 1am, which is not really late by South FL standards.

So we make our way inside and down the hallway leading to the main ballroom/dance floor, and as we turn the corner ... the place ram! New venue, same effect - ramishness!! Another thing that was also the same was the heat on the inside. A tad bit warm, but that's to be expected if the place so ram. Many folks opted to chill outside in view of the 9th green.

Now it seems we were a lil' bit later than we thought because Party People are bringing out a section ("Blood Diamond") in China Mas band and the presentation of the costumes was already over. But fear not, next week is the China Mas Band Launching and you know TJJ will be there too!! With the presentation gone, there was nothing left to do but mingle and tek a wine!! We mingled our way to the bar and ordered a wine. Is joke we ah mek, you know is only Goose we choose.

House Arrest and Eternal Vibes were mixing it up and partygoers were enjoying themselves. And for those who went to the old venue (Sosta), remember Grand Palms!
