What's up my Kings and Queens? Ah Labor Day in New York, Carnival in d place! I could think of no other better place to kick off the weekend's festivities than to go to my favorite place on a Thursday ... VICE! I made sure to get there extra early because I knew that tonight was a special night, Stabby De Guard, Kes and Ataklan were going to be performing! O gosh, o gosh, triple the fetin!

I anxiously awaited the performances, biding my time and winin with several different cuties in order to secure my spot at the front couch for prime viewing of d singers. Then I looked at my glass ... empty ... steuuuups, I was faced with a decision ... should I go to the bar and refresh my drink and lose my spot (mind you, it was several thousand degrees in the club due to the ram jammedness, Vice yuh too popula!) or should I stay, sweat and suffer troo until after the performances? I opted to stay and sweat, and I'm so glad I did.

STABBYYYYY, go Stabby go! I will neva get sick of that chune ("Go Stabby")! I'm pretty sure me and my Cropover 2K8 crew (big up Koya, Kam and Dale) were the loudest ones there screaming "Yes yes yes yes boss!" On Friday, my voice pretty much sounded like a sexy 60yr old smoker due to the screams and singing.

Ok performance over, time for some air! I made my way downstairs to what I thought would be cooler surroundings but wait ... crowded, crowded! I ended up chippin' over to the bar and asking for a nice big glass of ice to chew to keep cool as I awaited the next performance. I heard the DJs start to introduce Kes but couldn't make it upstairs in time so I jammed with my fellow Carnival babies downstairs, who were also trying to beat the heat. We banged bokkle, spoon, cup, candle, whatever we could find. The taller peeps banged on ceiling, wall and table. The vibes were so fierce, I felt like I was back in a basement in Brooklyn on a Saturday night. Fa-meh-ly, o gosh!

Hoppie and DJ Dane of Radioactive, direct from Trinidad, then blessed the dance with a nice long set. And that ole time Soca session was sweet too bad!!! Even AJ (Extra, formerly of BET 106 & Park) got excited and grabbed the mic from Hoppie for a minute (photo). Too funny! Another celebrity sighting at VICE was comedian Anthony Anderson (photo).

Before I turned around, it was 4am and I never wanted a corn soup man to be around so badly than I did at that very moment. I chipped home and gladly took my 3 hours sleep before I had to go to work. Upon waking up, I quickly discovered that my entire body ached and my feet had pretty much doubled in size ... I guess that's what you get when you wine low to the ground from 7pm-4am. 9 hours oui! Tired when I woke up, yes but so worth it. Big up Shorne, DreDogg and Curtis! VICE After Work Thursdays ... I love you more than ever!
