They say that Sunday is the day of rest, BUT this is definitely not the case in T&T come Carnival time. And some weekends, Sunday might actually have more fetes taking place than a Friday. What can we say, apparently Trini's love to be dragging at work come Monday morning!

bpTT All Inclusive (yes, no matter what they call this fete, it will always be bpTT fete to us) was scheduled from 3-10pm, so we pulled up to Pier 1 around 6:30pm. Shurwayne Winchester and his new band Y.O.U. had already performed. So, Lesson #1 - If you really want to see all the bands for any Carnival fete, arrive when the doors open. No scene, we told Shurwayne we'll catch them at Wicked In White on January 31st.

High Fidelity/Less Than Zero was busy keeping the crowd jamming in between performances, and it wasn't too long before Caribbean Traffik Jam, with frontline singers Eddie Charles and Sean Caruth, got cranking. Their big tune for the season definitely has to be Shayne Bailey's "Sweetness". The boss, Neil Iwer George, made a guest appearance with pal Super Jigga TC, who had the ladies turning their bumpers on the "Frontline" before Iwer had them "Ready" to "Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine Wine (We Like It)".

Okay, time to investigate the food. It wasn't a massive spread that most All Inclusives carry these days, but they had the essentials covered - Chinese & Indian Cuisines along with the likes of Bake & Shake, Doubles and Trinidad's newest crave - Gryos. Big up Rib House for taking care of us with some very delicious Trini Chinese food. And I have to thank the smallie that was sharing her Chinese shrimps with me while we were waiting to be served. It's only love in this country ah tell ya! smile

Around 9pm, Roy Cape All Stars kicked their set off with "Tusty". Of course all man jacked headed stage side to get a close up of the sexy Trini Jacobs in her black fishnet stockings. This band is sounding better and better each time we hear them, with Blaxx, Olatunji and Jacobs' chemistry getting stronger and better gelled as the season rolls on. DJ/Artist Devon Matthews seems to be moving with the band, and delivered his 2k9 contribution, "La La (Remix)", which of course was enjoyed by both young and old. The Pier 1 crowd was also treated to a surprised performance by Kerwin Du Bois (you know, the talented artist/writer/producer that give us "Gyal Farm ft Shal Marshall" last year and also the mastermind behind "Tusty").

Roy Cape pretty much took this fete down to the end. Another Sunday, another All Inclusive down. bpTT, thanks for having us. See you guys next year.

Chooks for the TJJ fam
