Promotions: Undisclosed Click on thumbnails to see the big picture/entire gallery I must say that for a first time Carnival experience in Grenada, it was truly fantastic!! The fetes, the artistes and the music…yes the music!! Grenada's soca could give the other islands some competition yuh know, like one of the favourites - Swing it Away. Come Sunday night TJJ did everything Grenada had to offer for carnival except J'ouvert, Monday Night Mas and Mas on de road Monday and Tuesday, but have no fear TJJ was dey, right up in it for all ah dem. Sunday early morning at 2am was the start of J'ouvert, so after some prepin’ at the Lazy Lagoon bar the crowd was ready to find the ‘Red Devils’. Now yuh have to understand that even if "you" were playing with "Red Devils" yuh had to expect that "everyone on the street" was playin in "Red Devils", costume or not … know what ah mean … damn stormers!!! Talk about crowds, but all in all the DJs had people jumping and having a great time. J'ouvert went right into the early afternoon, so Monday Mas on de Road was not happening, at least not for TJJ. Well seeing that the whole island played J'ouvert, no one showed up for the Monday parade of the bands, no ah lie, maybe ten (10) people were on the route … so next stop was Monday Night Mas! Lawd when was de last time you hear people playing Monday night Mas? It was perfect weather, nice warm night so people real came out … If yuh see peeeeople, more than J'ouvert, all in their boas, movie star glasses and glow sticks, yeah plenty glow sticks! Everyone was taking their mas serious yuh know, when the DJ said swing yuh glow sticks to the right, and left they were Swinging Away!!!! After a short sleep, it was time to get ready for Tuesday mas. Here is de story, it rain real hard Tuesday, first set ah rain for the whole week, an it didn’t stop till Wednesday! So after some consideration, TJJ was on de road (with ah umbrella) with the band Show Time, brought out by Summer Crew, ready to go, rain an all. About 30 other people had the same thought, so about 30 people buss it down de road in de rain with the DJ truck, playin mas in de rain is de best! Anyways unfortunately due to the really bad weather the local government sent out an announcement that Mas was postponed till the next Saturday???? Only in Grenada! Anyways ShowTime and it’s 30 masqueraders were allowed to stay on de road with the music trucks seeing that they were going down the route already. Everyone was having a great time, de whole road to themselves…sweet! TJJ has left the Spice
