Carnival 2k-Wine has
officially begun and TJJ on ah mission to snap all de big bumpers when
they pooching back! It's a rainy Saturday in Trinidad, and it was about midnight we made our way to Boy Scouts Association (De Mad House) to cover the Annual Hysteria Cooler Fete hosted by Jamboree and Privilege committees. One things about this venue ... parking is always a scene, but TJJ have de tactics of finding and fitting in ah nice spot. A little way pass the venue, something drew our attention. What really going on here?? A young lady in the middle of the road running away from a guy. In our mind, that didn't look like a domestic argument??!! Well everybody knows how Trini's fass fass ... so we slowed down to maco. At this time the young lady ran towards our vehicle and threw her purse inside de truck. What ... this was something serious! Well we were glad to assist, and besides, it was a familiar face n' all. At this time my girl jump in the van, out of breath and confused telling us of this character who was trying to rob her. Pressure ... and what a way to start the night, but it's Trini and nothing doh stop we! Promoters definitely need to consider stepping up the security outside their events these days. The party done in a full gear. On entering, the stage was in a different location to accommodate the massive crowd, and well .... the ladies .... mmmm (we mission on target). Compared to the average youngsters that normally attend most Cooler Fetes (especially held at this location), it was quite the contrary. A Cooler Fete with
Soca and drinks to each posse's satisfaction, you knew this is the lime
to be in! As usual, we bounced up nuff crews we knew. So for every cooler
passed, someone offered us a drink - from Scotch to Vodka, Rum to plain
old Government Juice. This definitely worked out in our favour seeing
that we couldn't stock a cooler of our own .... heh, we here to wuk! We mention mention how the sound system for this fete was on point, as High Fidelity/Less than Zero, Rapid Response, XTC and DJ Red gave their selections of Soca at it's best. Bussing new tunes like "Move Shake Drop" by Dj Laz ft Pitbull, Machel Montano & Lil Rick to Peter Ram's hit on the Coconut Tree Riddim "Tight". Things so nice, even Patch gave we a little performance of 2009 release "Rum & Roti" heating things up and controlling a section of ladies in the front who could not get enough rum ... and we certain is roti they eating after the party (lol). Following Patch's performance, a Tassa group took the sounds to a different level. We were on the move through the crowd carrying out our mission (yes .... snapping all de big bumpers from pooching back) as one was spotted from a distance, and better yet the white pants was tight!! Soon the mission was completed, and it was time to put away the cameras and enjoy the vibes. Tomorrow we in Amnesia. Reporting from Hysteria
