Barbadian Artiste has made it into the Finals of the International Groovy Soca
Monarch Finals
Barbadian Party Monarch Finalist, Peter Ram also competed in this highly respected competition, with his pulsating track "Pumpin". This infectious song which is on the Nirvana Rhythm, is heavily rotated on the Trinidadian airwaves and has already penetrated the international market. The ten finalists for the International Groovy Soca Monarch Competition are, Kerwin Du Bois featuring Shal Marshall, Patrice Roberts, Mr. Dale, Farmer Nappy, Shurwayne Winchester, Skhi, Peter C Lewis, Tizzy, Tony Prescott and Biggie Irie. 2007 Party Monarch Winner Lil Rick was the lone Barbadian entrant in the Power Monarch Semifinals. Although, he wasn't successful in his bid for a spot in the finals, his winning song "Caan Wait" and its music video continue to receive heavy rotation on Trinidad and Tobago's radio and television stations. The Finals come off on Fantastic Friday, 1st February, 2008 at the Queens Park Oval, Port of Spain. |
